Separation or divorce: organise details and contracts

Separation can bring several practical changes. This guide distinguishes your personal details, shared contracts and documents. Clarify legal agreements and divorce proceedings with the relevant authorities or advisers.

Sign-in required. Selecting this does not send a notification.

Review your details and access

Note changes to your address, phone, email or bank details. Also review shared access and who can view your records. Only share information you are authorised to disclose.

Clarify each shared contract

Record the contract holders, intended next step and responsible contact. A contract may require amendment, transfer or cancellation. Check consent and conditions directly with the provider.

Keep evidence and outstanding matters organised

File relevant agreements and replies clearly. Give each company only the documents needed for the specific request. Court proceedings, maintenance and asset division belong with the authorities or qualified advisers.

Frequently asked questions

Does a new address change a shared contract?

Not automatically. A contact address and contract ownership are separate matters. Ask the provider to confirm what has changed.

Can I act for my former partner?

Only if you are authorised and meet the recipient’s requirements. A former relationship is not evidence of current authority.

Where do I complete the divorce proceedings?

With the competent judicial authorities. The linked ch.ch information explains the process; Connect PD only organises the separate personal requests.

Can I notify any company through Connect PD?

Check the portal for support for your chosen recipient and request. A directory entry does not prove a partnership or automatic processing. If no suitable channel is available, contact the company directly.

What does it cost?

Connect PD is free for private individuals. Any third-party charges, such as official documents or postal services, are separate and should be checked with the relevant provider.

When is my request complete?

Preparing or sending a notification does not mean the recipient has made the change. Check replies, outstanding evidence and the company’s confirmation. If no reply arrives, follow up directly.
